PARENTS

Participating in competitive soccer requires more than just a love of the game. Parents should be prepared to sacrifice the additional time required to play competitive soccer. Springfield Thunder SC understands the financial strain playing club soccer can have on families, and we maintain the most affordable player fees of any team in the area. In addition, there are opportunities to defray the cost of player fees by working additional volunteer shifts. Click here for this season's player fees.

WHAT TO EXPECT

SEASONS

Soccer runs for two seasons, Fall and Spring. Each season consists of eight games, typically 4 home and 4 away games. Teams practice 2-3 times per week and participate in at least 2 tournaments.

TRAINING

Thunder will offer additional training sessions throughout t he year. We expect all players to attend as many training sessions as possible. Soccer is a team sport and therefore requires the team to develop as a unit. Players need to come to practice prepared to train wearing all the required practice gear.

PLAYING TIME

Springfield Thunder SC is a competitive soccer club. Although we encourage fair playing time, many factors play a role including: player's attitude, attendance, preparedness and work ethic.

VOLUNTEER

Parents are required to perform 4 hours of volunteer time as part of their child's membership in the Springfield Thunder SC. This helps keep our club fees low. Volunteer opportunities include the Clark County Fair and Wake the Lake.

PARENTS & PLAYERS

Parents and Players are required to have a positive attitude and a willingness to learn in addition to demonstrating good sportsmanship at each game. We expect players and parents to demonstrate respect toward teammates, coaches, opposing teams, and referees.

leagues & tournaments

Thunder teams play in both the Miami Valley Youth Soccer Association (MVYSA) and Buckeye Premier League (Buckeye). Typically younger teams will start in the MVYSA and move up to the BPL as they progress.
